For 60 years, the National Education Society and Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan (NES–SVBISD Group) have been committed to nurturing, empowering, and transforming learners through 69 institutions. Founded in 1963 by Dr. R. Varadarajan with just 7 students in a humble classroom at Bhandup, the group has grown into a beacon of value‑based education across Mumbai and Thane. From the early milestones of NES Primary School achieving A Grade recognition and SSC students securing 100% results, to the establishment of Ratnam College and pioneering schools in Dharavi and Dombivli, the journey reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence. The group further expanded with professional colleges, a dedicated R&D Centre in Education, and prestigious National Awards for teachers and eminent personalities. We are proud to have a legacy where we are adapting the new technologies and methodologies alongside not forgetting our roots and excel in academics, life skills and values.
In today’s changing learning dynamic, education has evolved far beyond academics. It is about nurturing skills, knowledge, responsibility, and opening doors to a child’s future. At SVBISD, we strive to provide holistic learning experiences and support every student with the best opportunities. Our teaching principle is rooted in the belief that every child learns at a different pace and perspective. At SVBISD, we help children discover their intellect through the right teaching approach, supported by rigorous academic programs. This includes globally recognized curricula such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), UK.
The school offers a high‐quality and accessible international learning environment for primary and secondary school students from diverse international backgrounds. Since opening its doors in 2015, the school has flourished, offering world‐class international education that develops multiple perspectives.
Our association with the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK is designed to provide a center of studies for educational excellence at the International level. At SVBISD, we not only challenge our students academically but also address their social, emotional, and physical well-being through physical education, visual arts, performing arts as well as field trips, excursions, and other extra‐curricular activities. We educate to unite, bridge cultures, and at the same time celebrate differences. Community spirit, from the local to the global, is a key part of the school’s essence. Students at SVBISD embrace their own culture and are open and responsive to other cultures and views. They are fully engaged, curious, and life-long learners. We believe textbooks aren’t the only key to learning subjects, we teach children to ask questions, to think and communicate those thoughts, to take risks where required, and to care for the environment. We strongly believe that the International education we offer develops confident, understanding, and respectful individuals who will contribute to their school, their local community, and the global community, now and in the future.
SVB International School Dombivli provides a holistic educational programme for students to become knowledgeable, open-minded, caring inquirers with an intercultural perspective, instilling in them a strong urge to become lifelong learners, peace ambassadors and tomorrow’s leaders in local as well as global context.
The IB Learner Profile is more than a set of ideals—it is embedded in our curriculum, teaching practices, and school culture. Through meaningful learning experiences, students not only achieve academic excellence but also develop the values, attitudes, and skills needed to become responsible global citizens.
At our school, we believe education is not just about what students know, but about who they become
